The PROBabLE Futures and NPCC Responsible AI Checklist for Policing is a resource for those within UK police forces who are developing, evaluating and overseeing AI tools. It provides guidance on the factors to be used when assessing whether an AI tool should be developed and deployed.  It brings together technical, operational, legal, and ethical aspects and it is living document that will be updated periodically.  It was distributed to all police forces, as part of the AI Playbook, in June 2025.

The checklist is available with an Appendix on setting up technology advisory panels for reviewing ethical implications.
